Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo earned a second-round meeting with No. 2 seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan at the Rogers Cup after defeating Canadian wild cards Frank Dancevic and Vasek Pospisil 6-2, 7-6(2) on Wednesday night in Toronto.
The Bryan twins, three-time champions at this ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament, won the gold medal last week at the London 2012 Olympics Tennis Event.
Tomas Berdych and Florian Mayer knocked out bronze medallists Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet of France 7-6(2), 4-6, 10-7 in one hour and 23 minutes.
Milos Raonic and Viktor Troicki, who faced off in singles action Tuesday night, joined forces in doubles for a 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 win over the alternate duo of Mardy Fish and Mark Knowles.
